Boxes made to your inside size
Ambica Wooden Works has built wooden packaging in Santej, on the edge of Ahmedabad, for about 35 years. Engineering companies, machine builders and exporters across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Gujarat send us the size of their goods; we build the box around it so nothing moves in transit.
- Wooden boxes: fully closed boxes in pine or KD (kiln-dried) pine, on runners for forklift lifting.
- Plywood boxes: plywood panels on a wooden frame. Lighter and clean, widely used for export.
- Bottom-type boxes: a strong pallet base with a cover that lifts off, for machines loaded by crane or forklift.
- Crates: open slatted crates with gaps between planks, strong and lighter in weight.
Export packing for sea shipment
A machine can spend weeks in a container at sea. Salt air and moisture cause rust long before it arrives. For export we pack goods in VCI (anti-rust) sheet and vacuum packing with barrier foil and silica gel, then close them in a wooden box made for the journey.
- Plastic covering and stretch wrap to prevent scratches and stop water getting inside.
- Fumigation and ISPM-15 heat treatment of wooden boxes, so the packing clears customs abroad.
- Handling marks stencilled on the box: this side up, fragile, lifting points.
On-site packaging at your factory
Some machines are too big or too delicate to move twice. Our team comes to your factory in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar or elsewhere in Gujarat, builds the box or crate around the machine, and packs it there, ready for loading.
Sizes and wood
Give us the inside size, in inches, cm or mm: the length, width and height of the space your goods need. We work out the wood, runners and bracing for the weight. Boxes are made in pine and KD pine; plywood is used for plywood boxes.
